Students in Canada generate high-resolution drone images of the Arctic landscape. These images give an insight into land surface changes due to permafrost thaw.
Permafrost
The magnitude of the impact of thawing permafrost on global warming is still unknown. That is why we want to make permafrost visible.
Mapping
The drone images are analysed by citizen scientists and students. In this way, the permafrost areas can be precisely mapped.
